    I know this post it old, but this is the most annoying question I always here about Sarracenia…PEOPLE, YOU DON’T NEED TO. I adivse you don’t at all. The lids are to keep rainwater out. The only Sarracenias that you do need to fill is S. purpurea and all it’s subspeices.

    You don’t need to feed them, they catch things very easily. Alot easier than the other types of carnivorous plants.
